Position Summary

Blue Stone Management is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Sydney. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in managing all aspects of cost estimating and quantity surveying for our construction projects. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects

  • Analyse and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents

  • Measure and quantify construction materials and labour requirements

  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts

  • Monitor project costs and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders

  • Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and proposals

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals


Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates and managing construction budgets

  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Proficient in using CostX and MS Office applications

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements

Physical: Ability to conduct site walks and attend in-person meetings at client locations.
Cognitive: Strong critical thinking, technical writing, negotiation, and multitasking abilities.
Logistics: This is a full-time, hybrid role; off-hours work may be required to accommodate operations or agency schedules.

Technical: Must be familiar with remote systems access and able to manage reporting in fast-paced environments.
